Spiced Tea


A nicely spiced chai tea blend you can make at home rather than spending 3 or more dollars a cup at at a coffee house.

Spiced Tea


4 cups water

1 3 inch cinnamon stick

1 1 inch piece fresh ginger, cut into 4 slices

1/2 tsp cardamon seeds

1/2 tsp whole black peppercorns

1/2 tsp whole cloves

1 tsp coriander seeds

3 black tea bags

1 cup milk

honey or sweetner, to taste

Bring the water and spices to a boil in a medium sauce pan.  Reduce the heat to medium – low, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes.  Add the teabags and milk and simmer for an additional 3-4 minutes.  Remove the tea bags and sweeten to taste.
