Italian Seasoning

159

Did you know that spice manufacturers can use fillers like wheat in their spice blends and not list it on their ingredient lists?  Ever since I found that out, I make my own spice blends.  I am not paying 4 dollars or more for a jar of fillers.  I want my spice blends to be spices and nothing else.  Call me picky.   Here is my recipe for Italian Seasoning Blend cause we are going to need it for my next post.

Italian Seasoning Blend

Ingredients

1 1/2 tsp oregano

1 tsp basil

1 tsp rosemary

1 tsp sage

1 tsp thyme

1/2 tsp marjoram

Combine all ingredients.  Store in an airtight container.

Woo hoo! More spice ideas by Julie! I’ve meant to throw together a mix of Italian seasoning but continue to randomly throw them in separately when I need them. Time to blend and label a bottle! And save time!

Thanks, Audrey. I have a ton of small batch spice blend recipes that I blend as I need them. Space in the spice rack is pretty limited. I am going on vacation April 24 to May 2 so If you are going to be in town during that time give me a call so we can get together.
